Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast has been hit with a deluge of rain overnight. The weather bureau's Vikash Prasad says up to 125 millimetres of rain fell at Noosa Heads within a couple of hours.
That was between probably around two, three in the morning, four o'clock or so, and then it just dropped out after that, so that's just one shower ... a big shower that went through the area, so we didn't even have any lightning out of those showers and of course around Maroochydore area we've had up to about 50 to 64 millimetres, he said.
The State Emergency Service (SES) has been called out to help the owners of a house at Noosaville that flooded during the heavy rain. Noosa SES controller Dave Hansard says a crew was called to a house in Seacove Court at Noosaville at 3:00am AEST.
He says there was water flowing through the home and the crew used sandbags and had to pump the water out. Mr Hansard says he has not received any other reports of problems caused by the rain.
