Snow has been reported in New South Wales central west town of Orange. High winds have caused trees to fall down across the central west region which is also experiencing a cold, wet snap.
Snow has fallen on Mount Canobolas near Orange and ABC listener Susan says it is snowing quite heavily at her place at Springside just south of Orange.
It is early, but I used to have a vineyard on Mount Canobolas and I can remember picking grapes one Easter in April and it was snowing on Easter Sunday, she said. But apart from that, no I haven't known it for a few years now to have snow this time of year.

The city of Orange in central west New South Wales is experiencing possibly its coldest April day on record. Snow has fallen at Mount Canobolas near Orange and at Springside just south of the city. Perry Wiles from the Bureau of Meteorology says the last April snow in Orange was in 1995, but today could reach record lows.
For Orange, we're forecasting a maximum today of seven [degrees Celsius], which will be a record for April with about 60 years of record, he said.
Bathurst, we're forecasting for 10 degrees C, which will be a bit above the record low minimum of eight. Snow has been reported in Orange, and high winds have caused trees to fall down.
