This month's wet weather in Sydney has made it the bleakest April in almost 80 years. There have been 12 consecutive days of rainfall in Sydney this month.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Michael Logan says the last time Sydney saw so many April showers was in 1931, when it rained for 15 straight days. It's certainly been quite a long time since we've had such a long sequence of continuous rainy days in a row, he said.
And that coinciding with the school holidays, I'm sure there's plenty of people getting quite frustrated out there. We've had about 15 millimetres since 9:00am (AEST) yesterday and that takes the monthly total to nearly 141 millimetres, so we're above the April average.
