More than 1200 Victorian homes and businesses remain without power after yesterday's storms. Power was cut to 60,000 properties overnight when falling trees and high winds damaged power lines. Damien Batey from Powercorp says homes in Ararat, Ballarat, Shepparton, Echuca and Cohuna are still affected.
Multiple bolts of lightning make their way across the night sky above Melbourne.
We certainly hope to have everyone on back on this evening at present we are doing all we can, he said. But there might still be a handful of customers who might wait until the early hours of the morning.
