FIREFIGHTERS are battling a bushfire threatening homes in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, the Rural Fire Service (RFS) says.
Around midnight (AEDT), RFS and NSW Fire Brigades members were called to a fire near Backhouse Street at Wentworth Falls, an RFS spokesman said.
Six RFS tankers and five fire brigades vehicles attended and crews were battling the blaze which was "impinging upon houses", a fire brigades spokesman said.
