The Queensland Ambulance Service says a motorbike rider is being treated at the Toowoomba Base Hospital after he was hit by lightning, west of Brisbane. An ambulance spokesman says the 35-year-old man crashed his quad bike when he was hit in the chest by lightning near Toowoomba, at about 5:00pm AEST this afternoon.
He was flown to hospital and is being treated for head and neck injuries and hypothermia. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after he crashed his motorbike at the Connolly Dam, near Warwick, south-west of Brisbane.
