Dubbo, in central western New South Wales, received more than 30 millimetres of rain in half-an-hour during thunderstorms yesterday afternoon.
The storm sparked a two car accident on the Newell Highway to the north of the city and brought down several trees in Narromine. However, the Macquarie division of the State Emergency Service (SES) says it received no calls for assistance.
Meanwhile, Young residents are cleaning up after a powerful storm swept through the town yesterday, uprooting trees and damaging houses. Colleen Clancy from the Young SES says the wild wind and rain passed through quickly mid-afternoon.
"We've had several calls for assistance, including roof damage, tiles off one roof, one house has had pretty substantial damage to their roof. A tree is on another house ... a lot of trees down on roads," she said.

Storms which caused millions of dollars damage in the Lachlan Shire just before Christmas have also topped up Lake Cargelligo.
A Lachlan Shire councillor, Paul Phillips, says it is one positive to come out of the natural disaster and will allow a good supply for watering the central western New South Wales town's parks and gardens.
He says Lake Cargelligo was empty before the storm, but is now at a level where water sports can resume.
"State Water by their calculations, it's 43 per cent full, but to the commoner it's possibly about five-eighths full," he said.
"We've had the marine services out, they deem it safe to ski on. However, when we say that you must use your own commonsense, look for floating logs etc."
