Rescue workers climb from a street which had collapsed after a landslide in La Jolla, California October 3, 2007
LA JOLLA, Calif (Reuters) - One home collapsed and streets buckled in a landslide in the hilly southern California town of La Jolla on Wednesday, officials said.
Police evacuated residents and power was shut off to the area after the Wednesday morning slide. No injuries were reported and officials said other homes were not immediately threatened but warned the situation could change.
Fire officials said about 24 homes in the scenic beach town north of San Diego could be at risk if the slippage continues. But San Diego city attorney Michael Aguirre told reporters no-one was in immediate danger.
