Chile's capital, Santiago, has been hit by the first snowfall since 1998.
Most of the city on Thursday was covered by a blanket of snow, 15cm (6in) deep in some places.
The snow caused chaos on the roads of the city, and also led to some power cuts
Temperatures in parts of Chile plunged to below 0C (32F), making this year's winter one of the coldest in decades.
Losses in the country's agricultural sector could reach more than $200m, officials have warned.
But many Chilean children did not mind the cold, enjoying the chance to play in the snow.
