Kroatië is vandaag getroffen door een stevige aardbeving met een kracht van 6,3 (exact cijfer zal later wel nog volgen). Er is sprake van redelijk veel schade alsook enkele gewonden. Volgens voorlopig nog onbevestigde bronnen, zouden er ook slachtoffers zijn.

De beving had een kracht van 6,4 en het epicentrum lag ten zuidoosten van de hoofdstad Zagreb, bij Petrinja, een stadje met zo'n 15.000 inwoners. Ook zijn er stevige naschokken geweest, met een kracht tot 4,5. De regio werd gisteren ook al getroffen door een aardbeving, toen met een kracht van 5,2.
