Sinds zondag sneeuwt het continue, waardoor er flinke problemen zijn ontstaan op de nationale snelweg in Tibet. Meer dan 900 (1300 mensen) auto's staan vast door de sneeuw/ ijscondities over een lengte van circa 60 km.Voedsel, water en zuurstofflessen worden uitgedeeld. Dit laatste om hoogteziekte te voorkomen.
Politie, ambulances en monteurs zijn ingezet om de gestrandde reizigers te helpen/redden.

Nearly 1,000 vehicles have been stranded on a national highway in Tibet due to heavy snow, local authorities said Wednesday.
According to the government of Nagqu Prefecture, more than 900 vehicles were lined up on a 60-km stretch of National Highway 109 as of 6 p.m., leaving over 1,300 people on the road.
Continuous snowfall has hit the prefecture's Amdo County since Sunday, causing icy and snow-covered road conditions. Police, ambulances and automobile maintenance workers have been dispatched to the rescue.
Snow removal measures have also been taken by the county government while food, water and oxygen cylinders have been sent to help drivers and passengers overcome high altitude sickness and hunger.
