Reed Timmer: Meteorologist and Extreme Storm Chaser
Threat of strong tornadoes from extreme southeast Texas across southern Mississippi and Louisiana tomorrow afternoon and overnight, as a trough in the Polar Front Jet Stream phases with the Subtropical Jet and deepens across the southern Plains.
A surface low is forecast to develop in southeast Texas by Sunday afternoon with a warm front lifting north from the Gulf to southern MS/LA, in response to a 45 knot low level jet stream. Instability and wind shear are conducive for strong tornadoes with any discrete supercells that develop.
