A dust haze is expected to affect Queensland's south-east later today. Yesterday, it was fog followed by a band of evening storms in the region. Today's weather cocktail is expected to include more showers and storms followed by dust.
Weather bureau spokesman Brett Harrison says a dust storm affecting Mt Isa, Longreach and Charleville in the state's west is moving eastwards. It's expected to move through towards coastal areas late tonight but it's expected to weaken as it reaches towards the area, so it's probably going to be more like dust haze, he said.
Showers and thunderstorms across the south-east later today are expected to help minimise the impact of the dust.
