A tornado spun up in a fast moving thunderstorm in Central Florida and destroyed 7 homes and left 1 person injured. The twister was spawned near the Port Orange mobile home community in Volusia County, Florida. The storms damaged 163 homes, but only seven were considered to be a total loss. A different funnel cloud moved onshore and briefly touched down in Ormond Beach destroying a catamaran in the process.

The storms were caused by a "sea-breeze merger," which is when winds coming off both coasts meet and caused the storms to rotate, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florda.
